Connections

Recently, Autumn and I have begun corresponding. It’s a good thing. I’m sick of being so angry at the world, and isolating myself from everyone. Her son, Cameron, has severe food allergies, so Peter and I thought it would be fun to put together a small box of goodies he could actually eat. It was so hard to find anything, but we managed to find a few things. We sent animal crackers, seitan jerky, soy nut butter, and some other stuff I can’t remember. It’s hard to find anything chocolatey that hasn’t been made on machinery that may be contaminated with nuts! I’m going to keep looking, though, and failing that, I’m going to attempt to make my own! I can almost hear Peter grimacing! haha. Anyway, Autumn left me an adorable message with Cameron saying, “Thank you for the peanut butter! I love you!”. Doesn’t that make your heart melt? So sweet… He’s the sweetest, most well-behaved little boy I’ve ever met. This isn’t just a biased aunt boasting, either. Cameron is a total sweetheart. I’ve never seen him without a smile on his face and a laugh following close behind. When I go home next, I’m going to take a ton of pics so I can share his cuteness with everyone.

I doubt I’ll see Melissa’s kids, but I’ve spent more time with them than I have with Cameron.

I’ve also been seeing a bit more of Aunt Barb and her family. She and her new husband, Bob, are vacationing in Cancun. Must be nice! While they are gone, we agreed to look in on their dog, Shadow. We’ve fallen completely in love with Shadow. She’s so adorable and well-behaved. Shadow actually listens to us. On Saturday afternoon, we picked my cousin Matt up and took the dogs to the Stapleton dog park. It was fun! Neither of the dogs really interacted much with the other dogs, but I think they still liked it.

Peter’s finally done with his second class, and I suspect he did just as well as he did last time. He’s doing such a great job…really plugging away. He only has nine classes left until he gets his masters degree. His next class starts in two weeks, I think.
