Nursery photos upPosted In: Everyday life — August 23, 2005 @ 3:33 pm — StephanieTake a peek at what we have so far. Still a few things left to be done. We need to figure out what sort of window treatments we’ll be using, as those horrid blinds can’t stay up. Ick. Plantation shutters would be nice. We shall see… It looks so pretty in there. Whenver I pass by, I stick my head in to marvel at the fact that soon–very soon–there will be a baby nestled in her crib. What else is new? Well, we found a dog. We were coming home from doing some shopping and nearly hit a dog lapping water out of a dirty puddle. Peter stopped the car and I jumped out to stop the dog from running into the street. The dog belly crawled over to me and licked my hand. Friendly. Good. I scooped her up and tossed her in the back seat and a-way we went. She has a collar on with an expired rabies tag from another county. That lead led to absolutely nothing, so I’ve been busy calling all the animal agencies in town, hoping someone called in search of her. Her name is Hailey, or at least it was when she was adopted out at the humane society her tag was from. She’s a beagle/bassett mix and soooo wonderful. We’re so lucky she wasn’t a snarling beasty that hates cats and other dogs. This dog is fabulous with Iris (they romp and play like nobody’s business) and she shows a healthy respect for the cats. If the owner cannot be located in the next 24 hours, she won’t have any problem finding a new home. We’re going to post signs around the neighborhood, pet stores, vet offices, and shelters. Hopefully, this guy will see one and call…or actually LOOK for his dog and call. We left our phone numbers all over the place. I don’t understand why he hasn’t called yet. If this were Iris, I’d be in hysterics!
