My newest obsession…Posted In: Everyday life — October 28, 2005 @ 3:49 pm — Stephanie…is checking out what’s going on at the Ole’ Watering Hole! For those who haven’t seen it or heard of it yet, a web cam was rather ingeniously placed near a watering hole in Kruger National Park in South Africa. I have been checking back over the last few days and finally had my first spotting! YAY!
For your own sightings, check out the cam here: Post ‘em here if you find something good!! I am especially keen to use lions, hyaenas, and giraffes. 3 Responses to “My newest obsession…”Leave a Reply |

Hi Pete, Hi Stephanie,
Ok, I’m hooked now, too. Last nite I fell asleep on the couch, woke up around 2:30′ish and instead of going upstairs to bed, I found myself checking out the watering hole…haven’t seen anything yet, which makes me keep checking.
Not much new - the waterbed in Brian’s old bedroom is officially gone….we had it drained and removed yesterday - we did keep the wood headboard and frame but we bought a traditional drop in mattress especially made to fit waterbed frames since those frames tend to be an odd size…..they are 6 inches longer than a regular queen size bed. Anyway, we bought a nice orthopedic mattress especially for people with problem backs….the drapes are gone and there are very nice vertical blinds in there….all the junk is long gone, and off to the left side of the bed is a very nice space for a little portable baby crib - we checked out a couple of those and it will fit nicely in there….we have rocking chair in there for rocking a special little baby, too. It’s like a ‘mini-suite” for mommy, daddy and baby in case anyone we know comes in from out of town and would like to stay here….(hint, hint….just kidding)…. it’s a nice room and the update/makeover was long overdue - we are very proud of it. Next room on the list is your old room, Pete. We plan to start that during our Christmas break and work on it throughout the rest of winter….we have some plans for it and just need to work them out on paper before we tear up the room with no direction on what will fit in there and what won’t. This summer during my summer break from school, we’re planning on re-redoing the kitchen. I think we’ve done well so far with getting rid of the pool table, re-doing the family room, the living room and now Brian’s old room.
Well, we’re off to OakBrook to enjoy the pretty fall day. It’s cool and crisp but a good day for walking outside. Dad’s birthday is next week and I think I’m going to take him downtown for the day - there are some nice restaurants he likes that we don’t get to often.
Hope all’s well - we think of the three of you often….love and kisses to Iris and the felines.
Love,
Mom
