It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhoodPosted In: Amelia, Everyday life — February 28, 2006 @ 6:05 am — PeterWe’ve been having some splendid weather over the past few days, yesterday reached into the low 70’s during the afternoon. What a great segue into March and April, the snowiest months in the Denver area. After this stretch of spring-like days, I welcome the 40 inches or so of snow we need to catch up to seasonal accumulation statistics. Amelia took advantage of the comfortable temperatures and hauled her bumbo chair into the back yard. She enjoyed watching the cats and Iris frolic while absorbing vitamin D. I have seven days before resuming graduate studies. On March 6th, I’ll be starting an online session of “Managing a Secure Enterprise”. I can’t help but be disappointed that this is the second information security related course that has relied on a CompTIA Security+ training manual as a primary text. The last course I completed covered the Security+ practicum in great detail and revisiting this material would be quite boring. I’ll have to make the best of it and find a different text to use for my writing assignments.
Just about done!Posted In: Everyday life — February 25, 2006 @ 10:56 am — PeterThe update to our blogging software is just about done. For the most part, what remains is obscure formatting issues and tapping into the newer functionality of WordPress 2.0. If you notice something that seems broke, please let us know. Today Tigger has a vet appointment. We suspect something might be wrong with her, but it is more likely the case that she is getting old and her body is slowing down. Knowing Tigger, we’ll likely find out that she has the vital signs of a 5 year old cat and will be around for several years to come. Yesterday we received a bunch of baby clothing from my parents. Thanks for the lovely new outfits!
Pardon our dust…Posted In: Everyday life — February 23, 2006 @ 11:16 pm — PeterI naively thought it would take only an hour or so to upgrade to WordPress 2.0. Here I am two hours later and still have quite a bit of work to do. Overall, it was a pretty smooth upgrade. What remains is tweaking of our template and loading of plug-ins and stuff. Thankfully the weekend is near and I’ll have some time to wrap this up. Until then, things may look a bit strange.
Video montagePosted In: Video, Everyday life — February 16, 2006 @ 3:08 pm — StephanieI found this clever little website where you can put photos together with music and create something cute. So, I made this. BTW, new pictures too!
Bargain shopping and visiting familyPosted In: Everyday life — February 13, 2006 @ 6:03 pm — StephanieThis weekend we did a lot of bargain shopping and scored really big at Gymboree, The Children’s Place, and Old Navy. Amelia has some great new togs! We found some great stuff at heavily clearanced prices. I looooove bargain shopping! I found a sweater originally priced at $34.99 marked down to $5.99! Wooo hooo! I found some pjs for next winter at Old Navy clearanced to $1.97! We got a whole bag full of stuff for just $50 at Gymboree! This stuff is sooo cute, too. Peter and I also picked up a few items for us. Some men’s shirts for $3.99 and a cute t-shirt for me for $5 were some of the better bargains. Then, on Sunday, we headed out to the burbs to visit my Aunt Barb and her family. My cousin Kim wanted to meet Amelia, so we gladly obliged. I called my other cousin Matt over so he could meet her, too. We always have a good time visiting them. Amelia is crazy about Barb and smiled tons for Kim. Iris enjoyed a walk with Peter, Bob, and their dog, Shadow. They always welcome Iris, which is really nice. Iris is insanely in love with Barb’s husband, Bob. She likes to lick his bald head. Anyway, we updated the gallery last night. Here’s a pic of Matt, which I threatened to put on our front page. haha. « Previous Entries |
