2 months…and growing!Posted In: Everyday life — February 9, 2006 @ 10:46 am — StephanieAmelia had her two month doctor’s appointment on Tuesday. Boy, is our girl growing!!! She’s 24.5 inches long, which puts her in the 95th percentile. Such a tall girl from two not very tall parents! She weighed 11 lbs 7 oz, which was at the 75th percentile. Her head measured at 38.cm circumference–50th percentile. The doctor was very pleased with her growth, pronounced her a perfect, beautiful baby girl (which we already knew) and then the nurse came in with the mean shots. We debated not giving some of them to her, especially since the doctor agreed that one (Hep B) was unnecessary for infants. In the end, though, since it was a combined shot, we did get them all. My poor baby screamed bloody murder. I cried and couldn’t watch them inject her. Peter had to hold her hands down, and oh, was it awful. I was a snotty mess. We were told to watch for elevated temps and bruising, then they sent us on our not-so-merry way. Amelia nursed for awhile, but was too upset to latch properly. Luckily, she didn’t suffer any reactions from the immunizations. She forgave us pretty quickly, too, which was a relief. I thought she might decide that mama wasn’t so trustworthy after all. Just hours later, she was her normal smiling self. Check for more photos and videos to be added to the site soon!
