Sweet potatoes

Posted In: Everyday life — June 14, 2006 @ 10:13 am — Stephanie

The first time Mia had sweet potatoes, she treated us to a wide range of disgusted expressions. Here are some of the better ones:

She’s starting to tolerate them better, but they are definitely NOT a favorite. She didn’t like bananas much at first, but now she grabs the spoon and shoves them in herself. Next we try apples or carrots. Fun fun!

And an update on her teethies–

Other than that stuff, she’s doing great. She sits like a champ, tries to crawl and pull herself up, and has recently discovered that she can kneel…so she does it all the time. We’ve been pretty busy, but there will be new pics uploaded to the gallery soon. I’m still working on a bunch, so keep checking back!

Six months…

In a little under an hour, it will be Amelia’s half year birthday. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by. Just yesterday I was holding her for the first time, marveling at the beauty Peter and I created together, and memorizing her perfect, little face. She can do so much more now. She sits, rolls everywhere, chatters at me all day long, and gets herself up on her hands on knees, preparing to crawl soon.

My friend Jen made this for Amelia, so I thought I’d post it here. Thanks, Jen!

Today, Mia and I went to the park, walked 2 miles and played on a blanket I spread out under a nice big tree. The weather was perfect, warm with a nice breeze. Then we went home and napped. What a great day! Tomorrow, there’s a free day at the Science museum, so I think we’ll check that out.

Here’s Miss Amelia trying out rice cereal for the first time. As you can see, she’s not quite sure what to think.
