Goodbye Tigger…

Last night we had to make the difficult, heart-breaking decision to put our beloved cat, Tigger, to sleep. She was fading fast, having trouble breathing, stopped grooming herself, and finally, stopped eating this weekend. Seeing her suffering like that just broke my heart.

She lived eighteen years, and each one of those eighteen years is forever etched on my heart. She will not be forgotten, and she will be loved. My sister, Melissa, picked her out as a kitten from the wood pile behind my Uncle Peba and Aunt Virge’s house. Tigger came to live with me in Edwardsville in 1999 and then out to Denver in 2003. She was a wonderful cat, so gentle and loving. I can’t believe she’s gone. She’s been a fixture in my life for so long…

She died in my arms last night, peacefully and too soon, she was gone.

Goodbye, my Tiggerlily. We will always love you and miss you.
