Summer comes to an end

Summer has gone by far too quickly and cooler fall weather has arrived a bit early with temperature in the 50’s today.

Two weeks ago, Stephanie’s father Joe was in town for his first visit to Colorado and a good time was had by all. We took advantage of the extra set of hands around the house as it happened to be the same weekend in which our appliances were delivered. Thankfully, we managed to get everything installed and Joe helped me mount the microwave despite all the trouble we had drilling through the stone tile on the walls. With a job well done, our kitchen looks fabulous and we continue to embark on small home improvements to help spruce the place up.

While Joe was out here, we managed to squeak in a visit to one of our favorite Colorado tourist spots, Garden of the Gods. We walked the paved trail and marveled at the stunning rock formations. The place is teeming with photo opportunities and we definitely took advantage of them! The pictures from Joe’s visit can be found here.

Last weekend, I got in touch with a former classmate and we met up at the Downtown Denver Public Library branch for a baby playdate. He and his wife are fun people and we had a nice time watching the babies stare at each other and interact a bit. Seems they are still a bit too young to really appreciate each others company, but I bet in the coming months, they’ll like to socialize much more. Hopefully, we keep in touch and can get together again in a couple weeks.

We went to another play date this morning at City Park and met up with several other parents and children. A few of the kids were Amelia’s age and we plan to attend the groups’ next meet up on the first Saturday of each month.

Finally, the big news! Amelia decided to begin waving ‘hello’. After revealing this earlier in the week, Amelia has been waving at just about everyone and everything! Here is a glimpse of the action…

What a great website you have! How lucky Amelia is to have such a wonderful collection of her own pictures from the first month on. She is truly a beautiful child and is obviously dearly loved.

I love the video of her waving! How much fun, she even waved to herself in the end… so cute!

The pictures of your cats are alot of fun to look at also ~ Clyde is the man! And your dog, Iris, is awfully cute too.
