Clever use of snowPosted In: Everyday life — January 31, 2007 @ 12:30 am — PeterThe Smiling Moose deli near our home made the best of a huge snow pile in their parking lot by sculpting the massive mound into a giant smiling moose head. At first glance I thought it was a sculpture of a dragon… The sculpture is huge, I’d say roughly 10-12′ high from ground to top of the antler. Very impressive!
Fun at the mall!Posted In: Video, Amelia — January 28, 2007 @ 7:47 pm — PeterAmelia’s favorite place lately is the squishy food play area at the Cherry Creek Mall. She loves to watch the kids play and is so proud when she manages to climb on top of the beloved waffle. Here is a clip of her hanging out on the waffle and making friends.
Our big girl!Posted In: Amelia — January 15, 2007 @ 11:08 pm — StephanieThese thirteen months have just flown by… When I close my eyes, I can still vividly see my tiny little baby girl swaddled snugly in her little white blanket, watching me with quiet concentration. We used to have staring contests then, matching each look of wonderment with one of my own. Nowadays, my girl doesn’t sit still long enough for such things. Nope. Instead, her mission is to DESTROY the house! She ransacks whatever her little hands can reach, routinely seeks out the cats and Iris for ‘affection’, fine tunes our stereo and television for us, sorts our clothes for us (who cares if it’s already sorted, folded, and placed carefully in a drawer?), takes every single book off the bookshelves, and plays hide-and-seek with the remote, my mobile phone, and my keys. Stuff she can do now: *Gives kisses (and will often go back and forth from me to Peter giving kisses when we ask for them) Vocabulary: We have such a good time together–the tickle sessions, reading books, singing silly songs, and the mad cuddling that goes on…. I am so lucky to be her “Mumma”!
Welcome 2007!Posted In: Everyday life — January 2, 2007 @ 11:48 pm — PeterAs you’ve probably noticed, our site has gotten a bit stale over the past few months. About the only explanation I can offer is, we’ve been very busy. I’ve been juggling a hectic project at work and a rather demanding course at Regis. Stephanie has been planning Amelia’s birthday party and our visit to Chicago for the holidays. The good news, we’ve been successful at all the things consuming our attention. I managed to pull off another ‘A’ and Stephanie organized a fabulous birthday party for our little June Bug. Of course our trip to Chicago and Mia’s birthday party resulted in hundreds of photos. Please be patient as we resize, crop, retouch and publish the boat-load of photos for your viewing pleasure. To everyone that attended Amelia’s birthday party, THANK YOU! We had a great time and were happy to see everyone come out despite it being a hectic holiday week already congested with other activities. Thanks again for sharing this special day with us. One of my resolutions for 2007 is to update our website more often and also do some redesign. I’d also like to start a second blog that would be for me to write about technology topics. We’ll see how things progress, I’ve got many other resolutions to contend with! |
