Happy travels

We’ve been back for a while now, but I’m still somewhat recovering from our trip to Ohio. Our adventure began when I discovered our flight was due to depart 6 hours before planned. I somehow got the departure time confused with our return flight time, oops! We raced to the airport and made our flight with a couple minutes to spare for a diaper change.

Amelia was in rare form for the flight to Cleveland. She whine, cried, bucked, whaled, flailed limps, and anything else imaginable that is characteristic of a crabby baby. To top it off, the flight was so turbulent, I was unable to pace up/down the aisle to give her a change of scenery. It was a stressful flight, thankfully we had a very understanding person sitting next to us.

Arriving in Twinsburg quickly reminded me why we made the trip in the first place, everyone was so friendly! Heather and Fuzz are great and were very hospitable by opening their home to a lot of people for several days. Seeing Meghan and Nick was great too. Gabby and Amelia started playing almost immediately, they almost seemed to remember each other!

The trip was tainted a bit by a stomach bug that we probably picked up on the airplane. Amelia was first to show symptoms and threw up a total of three times one of the days. Despite my best efforts to quarantine her, Gabby picked up the bug later in the week. It probably happened before we even knew Amelia was sick :(.

Next, Cedar Point amusement park. We wandered around for near two hours trying to find Meghan and Nick, we finally found them near the petting zoo and both babies were sound asleep by that time. We decided to leave the babies with Stephanie and Heather and waited in the ~1 hour line to ride Millennium Force. What an amazing coaster! I’d love to visit Cedar Point again sometime, but not until Amelia is at least 4 years old.

One of the best things about the trip was the amount of time I got to spend with Amelia. Between Amelia feeling ill and Stephanie getting some much needed time with her friends, it was me and Amelia hangin’ out and having a good time. We played together, napped together, and both had a really good time.

Here is a group shot of everyone while at Cedar Point. Not everyone came, so it doesn’t include “everyone” we visited with…

Lots of other pictures from the trip can be found in the gallery, album “Ohio Trip 2007

BTW, this was Amelia’s 6th state visited! She is one well-traveled baby!
