Louise stolen!

Posted In: Everyday life — August 16, 2007 @ 9:27 pm — Peter

Nearly 6 months ago a new coffee shop opened on Colfax, a few blocks from our house. A funky little shop that had a special twist to the whole coffee house experience, Louise. Louise was a gorgeous mannequin dressed in a different outfit everyday and set outside the shop to attract attention from passersby. Louise did the trick, or perhaps it is Dan and Bill’s mad barista skills, and Geez Louise coffee shop quickly became a popular spot for folks in the neighborhood. I’m lucky enough to have Geez Louise along my route to the Colfax 15 bus stop, I frequently stop in for a latte before heading downtown to work.

Last weekend a horrible person(s) decided to abduct Louise. Dan and Bill, the shop owners, are coping despite their loss. I’m not worried that the shop will go south from this point. Dan and Bill were clever enough to generate a ton of press about the theft and will likely come up with another great idea to keep Geez Louise a neighborhood favorite.

Look at all the press!
