From 80 to snow…

Posted In: Everyday life — October 21, 2007 @ 1:52 pm — Peter

We’re in the midst of wild weather season here in Denver. Yesterday saw a high of 80 degrees, now I’m looking out at my snow covered yard. The snow has stopped as of an hour ago, now the sun is blazing and it will probably melt quickly.

Keeping a 2 year old cooped up on the weekend because of bad weather isn’t easy. We went through her toy bins to find items she has not played with in a while and colored a few pictures as well. After lunch and another play session, she is fast asleep for an afternoon nap. I’m trying to power through some laundry and get other household chores done while trapped inside for a couple more hours.

I’m not too fond of snow. It makes getting around really annoying, every trip outside requires bundling up and then carefully removing wet items before coming back in. It pretty much makes simple errands take twice as long. I’m hoping for another round of Indian Summer to stave off the winter months for a couple more weeks. I wonder how Denver is going to host the World Series with this unpredictable weather?

Amelia can’t be kept in all day. We’re going to venture out after her nap to visit the Cherry Creek Mall play area and do some light grocery shopping. Need to burn some of this toddler energy!

Here is a snapshot of our front and back yard during the heaviest part of the snowfall:
