Ping Cap Day

Posted In: Everyday life — April 11, 2008 @ 10:02 am — Peter

It is cap day at Ping. What is cap day you ask?

Here’s how CapDay will work:

1. Three different prizes will be given out.

2. At three random times throughout the day, a name will be drawn from a hat. If that
person is present and has a cap on, they get the prize for that particular drawing.
If not, then another name is drawn.

3. The prizes step up in size with each being bigger than the earlier one.

4. Time range of random drawings: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Last night I discovered, I don’t have a cap. I stopped wearing caps at some point in high school or college. My plan was to get out last night to get a Colorado Avalanche hat, but the mall closed at 9pm.

Thankfully, a thoughtful coworker thought of me and brought me a cap!

Don’t worry, I’ve not become a Red Wings fan overnight, I’m still loyal Avalanche fan! I was, however, a fan of the Red Wings in grade school. It hasn’t been since Steve Yzerman, Sergei Federov, Nicklas Lidstom, and Tim Cheveldae dominated the ice that I’ve been a fan. I made the mistake of admitting this during my first job interview in Denver. Being that I stopped following hockey for several years, I was unaware of the huge rivalry that had developed between the Avalanche and Red Wings. I wonder why I didn’t get offered that job :P
