Don’t gamble with Colorado weatherPosted In: Everyday life — April 17, 2008 @ 10:29 pm — PeterOn Tuesday, the high temperature was in the low 80’s. Bright sunshine, nice breeze, spring was in the air. Wednesday morning, I watched the 6am news while eating breakfast. The forecast called for huge temperature drops and a chance of snow in the PM. How could we get snow after an 80 degree day, no way… I decided to ride my scooter to work despite the forecast. The snow started falling around 3:30, but it was not cold enough for it to accumulate. Without any accumulation, it seemed possible to ride my scooter home, dumb idea It was a intensely painful ride. The visor broke off my helmet weeks after buying it, so I was riding into snow at 35mph with bare skin. I considered ditching my scooter at York & Colfax and catching the bus, but decided to press on. The rest of the ride was tolerable, my face went numb and I managed to clean the snow off my sunglasses at traffic lights. Here is a photo of me a couple minutes after getting home: 2 Responses to “Don’t gamble with Colorado weather”Leave a Reply |
