Swarming!

Posted In: Work life — May 30, 2008 @ 12:41 pm — Peter

Swarming, aka, working outside the office, has been on my regular schedule 2 days a week for the past few months. I really enjoy the extra family time I get during lunch and breaks. In the photo below, Amelia somehow sensed that the work day was over (5:15pm) and declared it story time.

A day in the life of Ping

Posted In: Work life — March 8, 2008 @ 6:00 pm — Peter

The engineering manager thought it would be fun for us to carry cameras around and take snapshots throughout the day at work. He urged us to capture our morning routine before work, commute, and other interesting things along the way to work. Unfortunately, Amelia and Stephanie were out of town when we did this, so my morning routine was a bit boring. Here are the photos I decided to submit for the contest. A bunch of prizes are being offered for best photo, most creative, etc. I hope I win!

Working remotely

Posted In: Work life — January 15, 2008 @ 12:49 pm — Peter

Ping Identity is an amazingly flexible company when it comes to remote work situations. While I love my workspace at the office, sometimes a different environment is needed to inspire creativity or really focus on a challenging problem. Lately my remote office of choice is Geez Louise coffee shop which is roughly 5 blocks from our house. I walk over in the morning, walk home for lunch in the afternoon. It is truly a great work environment for me. Here is a picture of what my setup looks like just before packing up for lunch.

The Mac Daddy

Posted In: Technology, Work life — November 5, 2007 @ 9:53 pm — Peter

I’m amazed at how long it has taken me to grab a snapshot of my wonderful new(ish) macbook pro setup. No, we didn’t win the lottery, this isn’t my “personal” computer, although I do use it as one.

Ping has been drawing 3 names a month from a hat and bestowing the winner with a supped up macbook pro and 30 inch cinema monitor. I’m adapting quite well, OSX feels just like home since I’m overall more comfortable working in a unix-like environment. Without further ado…
